Each social entrepreneur is different, but they all share one thing in common: the desire to drive social change.

The entrepreneurs accompanying us in the photo have launched ten of the most promising social start-ups in Spain. We met with them recently as part of the Momentum Project’s Social Investment Day, an event organised by BBVA, ESADE and PwC to help these entrepreneurs find potential investors.

Among these projects is Specialisterne, a start-up based at ESADECREAPOLIS that provides training and employment opportunities to people with autism. Its other projects include helping women who risk social exclusion, providing social care to people in need and improving the quality of life of people with disabilities.

In today’s world, social entrepreneurs play a crucial role in solving the most pressing issues. Providing them with the tools, training and funding to help them grow their business is at the core of the Momentum Project. Thanks to this initiative, year after year, many entrepreneurs have managed to obtain enough funding to make their professional dreams come true.

BBVA, ESADE and PwC partnered on this initiative because we knew that sharing our knowledge was the only way to reach larger goals – and because we knew that doing this individually could not have taken us so far.

We hope that, in a few years’ time, these ten social entrepreneurs will bring about remarkable changes in society. We also hope that their achievements inspire future generations of social entrepreneurs to continue addressing some of the world’s most pressing issues.
